Some of the most commonly spoken phrases I hear these days from my son is: “Mommy come play with me! I’ll be the good guy and you be the bad guy.”
More often than I care to admit, though, I will shrug off his request with an excuse of something mommy has to do.
Mommy has to do laundry.
Mommy has to vacuum the living room.
Mommy has to start dinner.
Mommy needs a minute.
Despite this continued delay of my activity in his land of play, he still continues to ask and delights when I say yes.
And when I do say yes, and pull off my best bad guy impersonation to date, I am so glad I did. His delight becomes mine.
This post is part of a 31 day movement. You can learn more about it here but the gist of it is that I take 5 minutes to write on a one word prompt that is provided following a theme that I have chosen. My theme is The Mom Life. So every post will center around my life and experiences as a mom and what comes to mind when I think about the prompt given. Hope you enjoy following my writing journey as much as I will love crafting the words.
