I don’t know that you can ever truly adjust to the change that takes place after kids.
One friend referred to it as finding your ‘new normal’. Gone are the days of sleeping in and spontaneously going anywhere…at least if you want to have a shower and look presentable.
But I wouldn’t trade a moment of it. Children are a blessing and although I have moments where I’d like more than Calgon to take me away, I love my children.
A less than pristine house, hair that is long overdue a hair cut and a kitchen makeover that must wait a decade or two. It’s worth it.
I’ve been changed for the better because of my children. And I’m thankful for the adjustment in perspective my children have brought.
This post is part of a 31 day movement. You can learn more about it here but the gist of it is that I take 5 minutes to write on a one word prompt that is provided following a theme that I have chosen. My theme is The Mom Life. So every post will center around my life and experiences as a mom and what comes to mind when I think about the prompt given. Hope you enjoy following my writing journey as much as I will love crafting the words.
